NFDRTC has developed and designed training programs intended to educate law enforcement, corporate investigators, e-discovery specialists and the military on forensic data recovery principles, techniques and applications. These courses are delivered using NFDRTC’s proven approach to instructional design and delivered through the NFDRTC’s state-of-the-art training facilities.

Atola Insight Forensic Data Recovery
The techniques and methods presented in this hands-on training will prepare the data recovery specialist to use the Atola Insight Forensic for repairing and extracting data from non-functioning hard drives. Each student will learn the basics of evaluating a non-functioning hard drive using the Atola Insight to determine the steps required to bring the drive to a functioning state for retrieving data.
This course focuses on the real-world processes required to access data on failing hard drives using the Atola Insight. Students will learn and work on the Atola Insight in an actual small lab environment—Nothing will be simulated.

Forensic Data Recovery for Digital Forensic Examiners
The techniques and methods presented in this hands-on training will prepare the forensic examiner for evaluating, repairing and extracting data from non-functioning hard drives. Each student will learn the basics of evaluating a non-functioning hard drive to determine the steps required to bring the drive to a functioning state for retrieving data. This course does not focus on file system recovery although industry standard tools for logical data recovery are discussed and demonstrated. This course focuses on the real-world processes required to access data on failing hard drives. Students will learn and work in an actual small lab environment—Nothing will be simulated.
Firmware Recovery
This course will introduce the data recovery specialist to the concepts of and use of hard disk drive firmware. Students will learn the basics of accessing firmware using industry standard tools and their repair.
Advanced Imaging Techniques for Data Recovery
This course will expose the data recovery specialist to advanced imaging techniques using the industry standard imaging tools, including the DeepSpar Disk Imager. This two training will provide the student with a detailed understanding of the features of the DeepSpar Disk Imager and how to utilize its feature to acquire data off of unresponsive hard drives.

Electronic Evidence Collection Course
This two-day course will provide the attendee with hands-on training on how to collect and preserve Electronically Stored Information (ESI) in the most common scenarios.
